Douglas Hedden
Douglas Hedden is the newly appointed Walter Stirling Anderson Chair and Professor of Surgery for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Prior to this achievement, Dr Hedden was appointed and still maintains his position as Divisional Director in Pediatric Surgery at the University of Alberta.
He has served on a number of committees for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry including but not limited to the Academic Year 3 Standings Committee, the Selection Committee for Medical Students and Chairs' Council.
Within the Department of Surgery he has chaired numerous committees related to education, specifically the Divisional Directors Committee, Program Directors Committee, and the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee.
He is an active participant of the General Faculties Council Committee for the University of Alberta. He also continues to serve as the Chair of the Orthopaedic Surgery Specialty Committee with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Throughout his career he has shown a strong commitment to educating those interested in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery in particular Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.
