Myles Clough
Dr. Myles Clough is an orthopaedic surgeon in private practice in Kamloops, British Columbia. He is also a Clinical Instructor at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of British Columbia.
He obtained a doctorate in Neurophysiology at Oxford University (UK) before completing his medical education, also at Oxford. He trained in orthopaedics at UBC and has been practicing in Kamloops since 1981.
The applications of computers to medical problems always held a fascination for Dr Clough and he undertook informatics research as a medical student and as a resident. This and the need to break the isolation of working in a remote community led to his current interest in Orthopaedic Surgery and the Internet. He is the editor of Orthopaedic Web Links and the current President of the Internet Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Trauma. He is also the Canadian Orthopaedic Association webmaster.
Dr Clough provided a presentation on Orthopaedics and the Internet at the course in 2000. He has been invited back to provide workshops on subjects such as searching the Internet, computer images in orthopaedics and web page creation.
